FIFTY

As in FIFTY days that I have left of my internship and life on the island... that scares the s*** out of me, honestly. It's going to be the weirdest feeling leaving this place and all the people behind and knowing I'm never gona have the kind of lifestyle I've had here ever again. Going back to being a student in Manchester, UK is kind of exciting too :) and I think I can start planning all the amazing things I can do in all the places I'm travelling to in June!

I've been busy busy busy this week, work's been crazy recently as we are getting ready for the PGA Heritage golf tournament that starts in the resort tomorrow and the whole island is going to be a madhouse (literally) for the next seven days. So my time and energy to blog hasn't been very good in the past few days..

Just wanted to share a few exciting photos (I'LL BE IN CALIFORNIA IN TWO MONTHS!) ...and I'm off to a cinema date with a friend. I've heard the Source Code is really good sooo it's HELLO Jake Gyllenhaal tonight :)

One. Ice lollies (or should I say Popsicles)

Every time the weather gets hot enough my diet consists of mainly ice lollies. Healthy much? At least that stops me from buying a tub of Ben&Jerry's and eating it on one go...

Two. ASOS mid-season sale.

Three. Nestle's Hot Chocolate

I'm not even a big fan of hot chocolate but this one is just perfect - mix with water but it's still lovely rich and amazing <3 would love some marshmallows for the cup I've just got next to me!!

Four. Bright coloured handbags

Honestly, such a great way to lighten up your wardrobe :) Loving the yellow one!

St. Patrick's day parade, lots of noise and funny green costumes, sunshine (and obviously forgot to bring my sun glasses), Frosty Frog's frozen drinks, Wild Wing's Cafe outdoor party and beer garden... and going to bed at 9pm kind of sums up yesterday's celebrations on the island for me!

back to reality

Hey, the past six days have flown by and I dropped my family off at the airport earlier today.. absolutely knackered after being out and about every day and spending every minute with them. LOVED eating lunch and dinner out every day but I'm back on the diet starting tomorrow. I swear I've put on like half a stone in the past week!!!!

I'm going back to work tomorrow too, it feels so strange after a week off. Plus I've go a ton of uni work to do... need to finish my little work project, then write a report based on it uh oh and finish off the business profile too. The actual deadline is April 15 but I'm determined to walk into the post office on March 31 ready to send my work off to England! Stupid university doesn't allow us to submit our work electorically.

Will post about the lovely new clothes I bought, share photos of beautiful Savannah and of the island :) here's one I took by our pool last summer when it was sunny and hot hot hot...

weekend plans

I think I've just had the two most unproductive days off. Ever. As Wednesday night's "drinks" turned into a crazy night and too many very strong vodkas I had kind of a killer hangover yesterday... actually had to resort to a McDonalds!! Bad times. Today's been almost as bad - not enough sleep last night after sleeping all day yesterday, going to the staff meeting too early in the morning, coming down with a cold (right now my nose is blocked, eyes sore and head is aching)... dear me.

Anyway, I'm still debating whether I should go out for a little bit or just stay in bed and have a quiet night. I think I'm still recovering from Wednesday and might drive out and have a laugh watching everyone else getting off their faces haha. Kind of have also decided what I'd wear sooo really can't stay in ;) I've got another friend's birthday drinks to go to tomorrow night so it should be a fun weekend!

Here's what I'm planning on wearing tonight... we'll see how many times I change my mind before leaving the house!

tonight's gona be a good, good night

As I blogged on Friday, me and some of the girls ventured out to Savannah for a night out instead of the boring local bars... and had such an amazing time! A coach was organised to take people into Savannah for the night, returning to the island after the clubs close, and we decided to jump onto that too after searching for accommodation and figuring out none of us could actually afford to stay in Savannah for the night!

So off we went, paid the organiser $30 each, had a couple of drinks on the bus before arriving in River Street to go to the first bar called 'Wet Willie's'. Got to love the name hahaha, they do these kind of slushie drinks (just a warning they are lethal, very very strong)... I had a Sex on the Beach and it didn't disappoint :)

After a while we headed to another bar, the name of which I can't recall, it was more of a indie kind of place and reminded me of Manchester <3 Then on to another, and finally to 51 Degrees... which was just what I needed! A normal club, three floors, lots of people - so much fun!!!

Would love to go back for another night on the dancefloor in 51 Degrees - we'll see if I'm able to afford that before I leave as I'm saving pretty much all my money for travelling. Speaking of travelling, I now have all flights, trains and accommodations booked, I'm getting so excited :) The next step is booking a couple of Greyhounds when I get paid next week, reserve my place on a Grand Canyon tour, book train tickets for my day trip to Washington D.C. from New York and choose which show we are going to see on Broadway (I'm voting for The Lion King).

Got to go now, the sun is out, is +22 degrees celcius out there (it's 11am!!) and I've got a few hours before I need to get ready for work..

friday night: savannah!!

The plan for tonight.... 51 Degrees in Savannah :) Could not be more excited!!! Ever since I got here, every Friday night (and yes sometimes Saturdays too) is the same and I'm getting really really bored of going to the same bars, seeing the same bouncers and bartenders, and the same weirdos over and over again.

So now I've got only one problem - what the heck to wear tonight? Hmmm...

be my valentine?

I don't think I've ever been this tired! I'm working in property management this week and spent the last couple of hours of work preparing a nice, GIGANTIC, house for an owner arrival uh. Altough can't complain about working 9-5 instead of the usual front desk hours especially after doing two weeks of evening shifts and finishing work at 11pm which means pretty much no social life.

We had a lovely little Valentine's party at my house last night, had such a good time with some friends, a few drinks and home-made cupcakes and brownies. Can't beat that really :)

Now I've got a lot catching up to do with my blog reading list.. got a cup of tea ready for a relaxing evening!

a little piece of paradise

Had such a relaxed day today – love those lazy days, sleeping in and eating well and just relaxing J Went for a loooong 10-mile bike ride today, had a giant baked potato with chilli and sour cream for late lunch/early dinner at 4pm and now I’m just lying in bed. Obviously took my camera with me to take some lovely pictures of my journey to the beach and back so I’ve got something to look back to next winter when I’m back in rainy and gloomy England and missing the South Carolina sunshine!!

It’s back to work for me tomorrow... I’ve got a week of evening shifts ahead of me and I’m determined to hit the gym every day before work! And will stick to it – I need to get back in shape before it’s warm enough to work on my tan by the pool.

You know what happens when you start the night with a round of ring of fire... a major headache the next morning! Uh oh. Had such a good night despite the freezing cold temperature when waiting for a taxi at 3am! Cannot believe how cold it’s been these past couple of weeks L

That glass of water is my best friend right now and I’ve got a feeling I’ll be staying in bed most of the day watching The Hills.
